Processing
Primal Scream Blend combines natural process coffees and honey process coffees. In a natural process, farmers leave the coffee cherry on the bean to dry before hulling. This imparts a pleasant fruitiness to the coffee. Natural processing is the most eco-friendly because it uses less water than other processing methods. For the honey process, farmers leave only some of the fruit on the bean. Then they wash the coffee with some water and the mucilage from the fruit (this is the ‘honey’ part). This gives the coffee a little sweetness. We find the combination of these processing methods highlights the best of both worlds.
Roast Level
Like most of our coffees, Primal Scream is a City Roast. City Roasts are pulled from the roaster just as the bean turns a chocolatey color. At this stage, the coffee’s authentic flavors shine without any smokiness or oil. For Primal Scream, this roast level really brings out the sweetness and fruit.
Traceability
All of the coffees blended in Primal Scream are traceable to farm.

Primal Scream was one of the first coffees to win us a medal. We won it at Golden Bean North America in 2016.

We will deliver orders from the Portland Metro Area within 1-3 business days free of charge. You can also choose local pickup. We will ship all other orders within 1-3 business days and provide tracking information via USPS Ground Advantage or Priority Mail. Free shipping is available for orders of $50 or more.
Returns
As our product is a food item, we are unable to process a return. If your order arrives damaged please reach out with pictures, and we will do our best to make it right!
